Hydro and Lyse announced in October 2020 a plan to merge part of their respective hydropower production in southern Norway into a joint hydropower company. The transaction was completed on December 31.
NO-UK Com AS and Altibox Carrier are pleased to announce that the marine survey for the NO-UK submarine fibre cable between Newcastle and Stavanger is now underway.
Altibox Carrier has awarded the subsea installation contract for the Skagenfiber West cable between Larvik and Hirtshals to the Norwegian company Cecon Contracting.
Through its wholly-owned subsidiary Altibox, the Lyse group will establish a European fibre ring that will strengthen Norway as a datacentre nation. Operator Altibox and its partners in a consortium will build a new 700 km fibre cable between Norway and the UK.
Replication is one of the important benefits within the Horizon 2020-programme which Triangulum and Lyse is a part of. Last month this actually happened when Lyses video conference service to end users was tested in Sabadell.
Lyse-group had in 2018 a profit after tax of NOK 1,1 billion. The underlying operating profit amounts to NOK 3,1 billion which is an improvement of NOK 1,2 billion compared to 2017. The results reflect a record-high hydropower production and solid operational performance in all business segments.
Lyse have divested its remaining shareholding of 30% in Skangas AS to the Finnish stately owned company Gasum OY, which now owns 100% of the shares in Skangas.
